Stubborn tummy fat can be very hard to shift. Due to our often sedentary lifestyles and stressful jobs, medicated with alcohol and biscuits, belly fat can easily build up. And, it's not just our ability to win the swimsuit competition that's affected by the belly build up: fat deposits around the belly are linked to serious health issues, including type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease.
Red tea, also known as rooibos, is a great choice for when you're struggling with midday stress. What makes rooibos particularly good for soothing your mind is the unique flavanoid called Aspalathin. Do cardiovascular exercise on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. Sweating is one of our body's methods of eliminating toxins. Besides being excellent for heart health, cardio training burns calories to help tighten that mid-section. Try 30 to 60 minutes of low-intensity cardio per day. Low-intensity burns more body fat, according to the "Muscle Nerd" Jeff Anderson. Remember that cardio is cumulative, so feel free to spread your exercise out over several smaller sessions throughout the day.
Perform a resistance training workout every 48 hours. According to "The Abs Diet," resistance training targets abdominal fat and causes the body to burn fat for up to 48 hours after each workout. Repairing the muscle damage from even moderate resistance training requires a lot of extra calories. Three days a week should suffice for most individuals, but feel free to increase to 5 or 6 days according to your own personal fitness goals. Our muscles are constantly burning calories, even at rest, so it makes sense to build muscle as part of a stomach-flattening and cleansing diet.

Most detox teas contain caffeine, probably because this stimulant may suppress appetite, trigger your digestive system to let go of waste, and help you shed water weight. A caffeine-induced energy boost may also lead to working out a little longer or harder than usual. However, too much caffeine can also be risky (see above) and interfere with getting enough sleep–and catching too few zzzs may ultimately undo the tea's weight-loss effects. In fact, too little shuteye has been shown to trigger excessive eating and weight gain and even slow metabolism, which can make it easier to gain weight even if you don't eat extra calories. A good rule of thumb, regardless of where your caffeine is coming from, is to nix it at least six hours before bed. And if you're trying to shed pounds, commit to making adequate sleep a top priority.
So-called "detox" teas have been popular for years, primarily among people who frequent health-food stores, or consult with alternative practitioners. These days, though, they've become big business, and a handful of celebrities are touting their weight-loss benefits on social media. In a way, detox teas have become the liquid version of waist trainers–the before and after results are often dramatic, and their celeb backing generates buzz, but you may be wondering: Do they really work, and are they safe? Before you plunk down your hard-earned money and start sipping, here are five things you should know.
The concentration of EGCG—the superpotent nutrient found in green tea—may be as much as 137 times greater in powdered matcha tea. EGCG can simultaneously boost lipolysis (the breakdown of fat) and block adipogenesis (the formation of new fat cells). One study found that men who drank green tea containing 136 milligrams of EGCG—what you'd find in a single 4-gram serving of matcha—lost twice as much weight than a placebo group and four times as much belly fat over the course of three months.
This recipe gives you a detox water that flushes out nasty toxins and really does help you to drop a few pounds, too. There are also apples which are great for fiber, lemons that have cleansing properties and cinnamon which helps to curb your appetite. You’ll need about 12 ounces of filtered water, 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice, a teaspoon of ground cinnamon and about half a medium apple, sliced. You can also add a bit of sweetener if you want. You simply put everything except the apples into your blender and blend for about ten seconds. Then just add your apples and drink.

Before you head out to dinner, pour yourself a cup of green tea. The active ingredient in green tea, EGCG, boosts levels of cholecystokinin, or CCK, a hunger-quelling hormone. In a Swedish study that looked at green tea's effect on hunger, researchers divided up participants into two groups: One group sipped water with their meal and the other group drank green tea. Not only did tea-sippers report less of a desire to eat their favorite foods (even two hours after sipping the brew), they found those foods to be less satisfying.
As I mentioned at the beginning of this article, excess abdominal fat is a key predictor of heart disease, diabetes and several types of cancer. But you shouldn’t get rid of your belly fat just to protect your health; you should also do it because it makes you feel good as an individual. Restoring confidence in yourself is also a great way to ensure you stay healthy. Just remember, losing weight, especially in your belly is not an easy process, so do not get discouraged and stay motivated and you’ll achieve your goals.
Every tea has its own special weight-loss powers, but if your boat is sinking and you can only grab one package of tea before swimming to the deserted island, make it green tea. Green tea—a core component of The 7-Day Flat-Belly Tea Cleanse—is the bandit that picks the lock on your fat cells and drains them away, even when we’re not making the smartest dietary choices. Chinese researchers found that green tea significantly lowers triglyceride concentrations (potentially dangerous fat found in the blood) and belly fat in subjects who eat fatty diets.
