So what can we do to reduce the fat around our belly, no matter the type? Dr. Charlie Seltzer, a physician who is board certified in obesity medicine, says it is quite simple. "To lose belly fat — or fat anywhere, for that matter — you need to eat fewer calories than you burn," Dr. Seltzer says. "It is really that simple. You cannot 'spot reduce.' Where the fat comes off first is largely based on your genes."

Avocados sometimes gets a bad reputation because of their high fat content. However, as you may have heard before, there are both bad and good fats. And avocados are stuffed with the good for you fats.In addition to being high in good fats,  avocados are also loaded with fiber. This helps keep your digestive system moving, reducing excess build up by preventing constipation. Additionally, avocados help control and stop blood sugar spikes. As a result, this prevents your body from storing excess fat in your lower belly and helps prevent love handles.(7)Like most foods, you’ll want to eat avocados in moderation. Adding a half avocado to a meal for a total of about two full avocados per week is a good number to aim for. Try to make your own guacamole, but be careful buying store bought guacamole because it can contain excess ingredients that make losing lower body fat harder.

A few years back, the authors of Eat This, Not That! commissioned ChromaDex laboratories to analyze 14 different bottled green teas for their levels of disease-fighting catechins. While Honest Tea Honey Green Tea topped the charts with an impressive 215 milligrams of total catechins, some products weren’t even in the game. For instance, Republic of Tea Pomegranate Green Tea had only 8 milligrams, and Ito En Teas’ Tea Lemongrass Green had just 28 milligrams, despite implying on its label that the product is packed with antioxidants.

When mommy wants to look her finest, she turns to a diet that consists solely of this mega mint detox water. Her kids will also learn to love the lively drink. The orange and lemon base forms a one-of-a-kind tanginess. Together, these citrus fruits focus on fixing the foundation of the digestive system. The hop, a component in beer, is a sedative plant whose pharmacological activity is due primarily to the bitter resins in the leaves. Hops increase the activity of the neurotransmitter GABA, which soothes the central nervous system. Spanish researchers reported in a 2012 journal that the sedative activity of hops aids nocturnal sleep. Knocking out stress will also decrease your levels of cortisol, that stress hormone I mentioned earlier, which tells your body to store fat.
Refined grains, more so than whole grains, expand your waist. In a 2010 issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, researchers found that increased intake of refined grains correlated with a greater amount of belly fat, while an increased intake of whole grains did not. Eat brown rice, quinoa and 100-percent whole-wheat bread in lieu of white rice and pasta. Include ample watery, fibrous vegetables at meals too -- they'll help fill you up without too many calories.

This detox water has ingredients that will clean out your kidneys, eliminate bloating and help you to enjoy much healthier skin. It also aids in digestion. You need about ½ gallon of purified water, ½ lemon sliced, ½ lime sliced, ½ grapefruit sliced (note that you can also substitute or add oranges if you want), 1 cup of sliced cucumber with peels, 1 teaspoon of freshly grated ginger and a handful of fresh peppermint leaves. Just add all of the ingredients into a pitcher and cover with ice. Refrigerate for at least a couple of hours before serving and discard after 24 hours as the citrus fruits tend to get a little mushy.
Does the body type theory work in these cases? Well, knowing that you’re a pear or an apple is useful for identifying those exercises that can help you achieve a more proportionate appearance, but focusing more on the upper body or on the legs might not be effective in reducing the belly fat. So today we’ll talk about the Belly type theory, launched by chiropractor Eric Berg, author of a book called The 7 Principles of Fat Burning.
