These little black morsels of nutrition are packed with fiber, protein and, most important of all, omega-3 fatty acids. Pair chia seeds with green tea in a smoothie to turbocharge the tea’s fat-burning powers. According to a study review in the International Journal of Molecular Science, omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids may enhance not only the bioavailability of EGCG, but also its effectiveness.

Normally, in healthy adults, blood sugar levels rise in the morning, but in people with liver belly, blood glucose is lower in the morning, irritability is higher and hunger doesn’t disappear after eating. This happens because bile isn’t released properly and food isn’t broken down as it should, so these people feel hungry after eating and crave for sugars, as a result of their low energy levels.

It may be hard to believe, given the negative press that eggs often get for their cholesterol counts, but eggs can help fight belly fat. This is in addition to several other nutrients eggs provide. Eggs have a high protein content and mix of vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats that work to give you energy, keep you fuller longer, and boost your metabolism. (5) This combination of benefits can help you stave off morning cravings for sugary coffee drinks and pastries, donuts, and bagels. So tomorrow for breakfast, cook up some eggs, any style will do. Just try to avoid eggs that require copious amounts of fat or carbohydrates. Remember to use minimal butter and oil when cooking eggs, and don’t forget that hard-boiled eggs are an egg-celent flat belly snack.
Dark chocolate is loaded with antioxidants and a nice dose of oleic acid, which is a monounsaturated fat. It also contains stimulants that can have a positive effect on fat burning, including theobromine and caffeine. Dark chocolate reduces the production of the stress hormone cortisol, which causes belly fat to accumulate. Try it for a quick breakfast to keep your appetite tamed for hours.
Do cardiovascular exercise on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. Sweating is one of our body's methods of eliminating toxins. Besides being excellent for heart health, cardio training burns calories to help tighten that mid-section. Try 30 to 60 minutes of low-intensity cardio per day. Low-intensity burns more body fat, according to the "Muscle Nerd" Jeff Anderson. Remember that cardio is cumulative, so feel free to spread your exercise out over several smaller sessions throughout the day.
Ginger and mango are both great for boosting your metabolism and ginger is a natural pain reliever as well. Mango aids in digestion and can help to flush a number of free radicals out of your body. To make this day spa detox water, you need about an inch of ginger root and a cup of fresh or frozen mango. Just peel the ginger and cut it into three or four slices. Drop into a pitcher, add your cup of cubed or sliced mango and then top with about three cups of ice before filling with purified water. This needs to sit in the fridge for about three hours to allow the flavors to come out.

When your cortisol levels are through the roof, it triggers the release of insulin, and this is where things go awry. Initially, the ‘fight-or-flight’ response shuts down your digestive system so you can deal with the “threat”, like a very hungry lion or, more realistically, heavy traffic on your way to work. Once the danger has passed, your body seeks to replenish the hundreds of calories you burned fighting to the death/swearing at rush hour traffic and makes you ravenously hungry.
Does the body type theory work in these cases? Well, knowing that you’re a pear or an apple is useful for identifying those exercises that can help you achieve a more proportionate appearance, but focusing more on the upper body or on the legs might not be effective in reducing the belly fat. So today we’ll talk about the Belly type theory, launched by chiropractor Eric Berg, author of a book called The 7 Principles of Fat Burning.
