This is one of the sweetest detoxifiers out there. It derives a big blast of sugar from its decadent array of fruits that includes pineapple, orange and agave. Grated ginger is also sprinkled on top to pack a spicy punch. It is also an elite digestive aid, especially for those with ulcers or a history of cramps. With this elixir, there is a lot of sharpness in terms of flavor, but the thick agave nectar can smooth out everything for a divinely syrupy texture. All of the citrus fruits naturally join forces to fortify stomach, intestines and colon. Say cheers!

Core exercises go far beyond your grandparent’s idea of sit-ups and pushups. The core is everything in your trunk, from your upper legs, hips, abs, back, and chest. Exercises that focus on improving your core muscles help you improve your strength and tone beneath your fat. Exercises for love handles should include plenty of core exercise. Focusing on your core should form a major component of your cardio routine and improved diet.
"The best thing to do to is to stay away from simple carbs" while loading up on lean protein, says Murphy, who explains that it takes more energy to burn protein. (Here's what a perfect day of eating enough protein looks like.) When you do eat carbs, choose whole grains, which are high in filling fiber so you'll eat less. Plenty of cardio helps, too.
Subcutaneous fat is the fat just under the skin. If you are wondering why you cannot see your six-pack abs, it is probably because subcutaneous fat is covering them. The cells in this type of fat are active and can contribute to the development of disease, but the placement and activity level of the cells of this type of fat makes it less dangerous than visceral fat.
Lemons are a good source of vitamin C, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous and vitamin B6. Ginger contains a compound named gingerol which increases metabolism rate by 20 per cent [21] . An increase in metabolism helps you lose weight, including the burning of belly fat. Consumption of lemon and ginger detox water will provide feelings of satiety and reduce cravings.
One reason excess visceral fat is so harmful could be its location near the portal vein, which carries blood from the intestinal area to the liver. Substances released by visceral fat, including free fatty acids, enter the portal vein and travel to the liver, where they can influence the production of blood lipids. Visceral fat is directly linked with higher total cholesterol and LDL (bad) cholesterol, lower HDL (good) cholesterol, and insulin resistance.
Women in this group are very likely to have heavy periods, facial hair, frequent acne outbreaks and headaches, to suffer from bloating, PMS, depression and ovarian cysts. Lower back pain and hip pain, as well as knee pain during the menstrual period are very likely to appear. Water retention also occurs during the cycle, along with a low libido, hot flashes, mood swings and night sweats.
You wake up slim, but go to bed with a bloat that grew throughout the day. This bloat is a sign of a poor diet. You could be dealing with food sensitivities or allergies in addition to too much of one food group (dairy, protein) and not enough of others (veggies). The bloat makes you want to unbutton your pants by 2 p.m. and you're probably feeling pretty sluggish at that point, too
In addition to actual tea, detox concoctions typically include additional herbs, which may be designed to curb appetite, rev metabolism, or boost weight loss in other ways. One example is senna, a plant with a natural laxative effect. According to the Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database, the potential side effects of senna use may include abdominal pain and discomfort, cramps, bloating, gas, nausea, and diarrhea; excessive use can lead to potassium depletion and other electrolyte abnormalities, which can trigger muscle spasms and an abnormal heart rhythm. Another popular ingredient in weight loss teas is guarana, a plant that's often added to energy drinks. Its side effects are commonly related to its caffeine content, which may include nervousness, restlessness, stomach irritation, nausea, vomiting, headache, anxiety, agitation, ringing in the ears, and fast heart and breathing rates. Bottom line: Do your homework about exactly what's in a product before you put it in your body. Even "all-natural" substances can have potential side effects, especially if they're overused, combined with other supplements or medications that result in negative interactions, or if taken by those with pre-existing medical conditions.

Not all women are created equally — or at least as far as our bellies are concerned! Your belly type is dependent upon your musculoskeletal structure, genetics, lifestyle, diet and more. James Duigan, fitness expert and A-list celeb trainer, has narrowed down the belly types to five: spare tire, stress, pooch, mommy and bloated. Once you figure out which belly type you have, you can address the weight loss with focus and efficiency. All of the information below is based off of Duigan's research and recommendations.

Valerian is an herb that's long been valued as a mild sedative, and now research is showing what tea enthusiasts have known for centuries. In a study of women, researchers gave half the test subjects a valerian extract, and half a placebo. Thirty percent of those who received valerian reported an improvement in the quality of their sleep, versus just 4 percent of the control group. In a another study published in the European Journal of Medical Research, investigators gave 202 insomniacs valerian or a Valium-like tranquilizer. After six weeks, both treatments were equally effective. And in other studies, valerian root has been shown to increase the effectiveness of sleeping pills. While researchers have yet to identify the exact active ingredient, they suspect that receptors in the brain may be stimulated to hit "sleep mode" when coming in contact with valerian.

Hibiscus tea, which is made from the magenta-coloured calyces of the Hibiscus sabdariffa flower, contains high antioxidant properties that may help boost your health in many ways. Several studies have shown that drinking hibiscus tea can help boost weight loss and prevent obesity. This herbal tea may also help lower blood pressure, improve liver health and protect against cancer.

First one’s the Adrenal belly or Adrenal shape, caused by increased levels of cortisol. When going through stressful periods, the production of cortisol increases, and this favours the accumulation of fat around the waist, leading to a saggy abdomen. Both men and women are likely to gain weight around the waist if they are constantly exposed to high levels of stress, and besides the excess belly fat, they are also likely to experience fatigue, back pain, nervousness, poor memory and sleep problems.
